Bowa Construction completed general contracting services for
The University of Chicago Medicine’s Outpatient Bone Marrow
Transplant Unity project including installation of wall protection for
wood paneling and doors in the clinical trial, prevention, treatment
and transplant spaces. In order to lessen the impact of
construction activities in the patient care areas, our project team
met with the clinical staff in order to gain an understanding of
the function of the Department, as it was extremely important to
ensure no construction activities resulted in any harm to the
patients. Additional scope of this work included demolition,
drywall, wood work, painting, electrical, flooring, mechanical and
plumbing upgrades, while maintaining full compliance with the
American Disability Act and the Secretary of Interior’s Standards
for Rehabilitation.
