Located in the Central Administration Building in Downers Grove, Ill., Bowa Construction is providing construction management at risk services for the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority Data Center project. The multi-phased, 5,300 SF computer room is comprised of five separate phases including the renovation and expansion of the existing data center server room. Each phase includes the construction of temporary dust partitions, demolition of existing partitions and the construction of new drywall separation partitions within the existing raised access flooring of the data center. Additional scope includes the addition of server racks within the expanded data center, replacement of existing UPS systems, installation of 11 new Computer Room Air Handling (CRAH) units in order to replace the existing, a new 1250Kw / 1563 KVA diesel generator with paralleling gear to sync up to the existing 1250Kw / 1563 KVA diesel generator, the addition of new automatic transfer switches in the newly created switch gear room, as well as new generator and air cooled chillers.
